Coffee
Once upon a time, there was a story that never happen, but it could. In the 20th century, alcoholic beverages were banned nationally for consumption. Because of it, a group of men started to protest, claiming that if it were to ban alcoholic beverages, it would have to ban coffee too since coffee is also an addictive drug.
The United States government accepted the argument. But in the morning of the following day, the judge who signed the law was very disappointed because the didn't have coffee on his table and as a consequence, he spent the whole day with a headache. Even tough, he didn' t back down with his decision. Although, when his coffee addiction snapped, he got in touch with Alphone Gabriel Capone, an American gangster.
They made a deal where Capone would go delivery coffee at the judge's house every Friday. The judge, by the way, was a close friend of Franklin Roosevelt. The judge always spoke to Roosevelt about his regret at banning coffee consumption. That was until Roosevelt who won the presidency abolish the dry law. Both were then able to drink coffee without breaking the law!
